Dermapen works by healing your skin from within. It is a set of sterile, tiny microneedles, applied to the skin by Dr. Wright or a trained medical professional. Dermapen induces fractional treatment to trigger skin rejuvenation without the risks of scarring, resulting in visibly smoother and firmer skin. Skin is treated not at the surface as in a facial but at the level where it renews. Collagen and elastin production is stimulated, resulting in healthier, better-looking skin.

It is not uncomfortable; patients report it feels like a tickling sensation. For more sensitive areas or deeper treatments, numbing cream may be effectively applied before your treatment. There is very little downtime; depending on depth of treatment, skin is mildly pink for a short time. Deeper treatments may produce redness on or around tougher scars to penetrate and heal them and facilitate scar revision.

Micro-needling with Dermapen sets up unparalleled skin remodeling and regeneration. Skin needling is based on the skin’s ability to heal itself after an injury. After the skin encounters physical damage, it releases growth factors and recruits immune cells. These growth factors and immune cells recruit fibroblasts and keratinocytes which lay down a new extra-cellular scaffolding of collagen, elastin and other important skin structural elements. In some areas, we combine the benefit of your skin’s collagen-building abilities with a hyaluronic acid infusion. HLA is the active ingredient in many fillers; since it retains and absorbs moisture, it results in a firmer, more youthful skin tone.

This helps with tightening skin where there are fine lines and sagging; resurfacing of acne scars and pitting; scar revision; overall skin dullness; and age- and sun-related loss of tone.

Dermapen is the device utilized in the hugely popular “Dracula Facial” that is the ‘it’ treatment for 2013. We modify the “Dracula Facial,” though, eliminating the painful blood injection portion and making the treatment much more comfortable and less messy. We infuse skin with a freshening hyaluronic serum, providing a healing boost of moisture-attracting solution that makes your skin more taut and luminous.

Patient C.H. had this to say about her “Dracula Facial” Dermapen treatment with us:

"I have had acne scars for years. Until now I haven’t been able to find an effective treatment that doesn’t cost thousands of dollars. Dr. Wright suggested I try the Dermapen. I have had only the first treatment (of three total) and am blown away by the results. I had my full face treated without numbing and was out the door in about twenty minutes. There was very little discomfort and almost no redness. My acne scars are greatly diminished- (some having altogether vanished!) fine lines and wrinkles are disappearing and my skin is noticeably smoother, firmer and tighter. I am ecstatic about my results. Overall, the cost of Dermapen is in my ballpark price-wise, has no downtime, and offers fantastic results. I can’t thank Dr. Wright and his highly skilled team enough for taking the time to cater to patient’s needs and providing outstanding patient satisfaction."

What are Stretch Marks?

Stretch marks, also known as stria distensae, are caused by rapid stretching of the skin. After an initial inflammatory phase, the skin and its underlying structure becomes thin/atrophic. It does not have the same structure as healthy skin.

How does Dermapen help stretch marks?

The microneedling treatment stimulates growth factor and local immune cells. This leads to fibroblast proliferation and remodeling of the skin with new collagen formation and skin thickening.

What are Scars?

Scars are result of different or disorganized collagen fibers in skin.

How does Dermapen help scars?

Dermapen’s fractional microneedling causes mechanical breakdown of existing scarring and allows new and natural wound healing response to take place. An increase in growth factors responsible for skin remodeling occurs.

What is a Wrinkle?

A wrinkle is a fold in a skin. Under the skin fold or depression in the skin, there is a relative lack of collagen protein. The skin is lacking it full potential structure.

How does Dermapen help wrinkles?

Dermapen treatment leads to an increased availability of nutrients and triggers the wound healing cascade resulting proliferation of fibroblast, epithelial and keratinocytes. The final result is skin remodeling, skin thickening and with higher collagen density, resulting in less visible wrinkling and firmer, healthier skin.

Skin Tightening

Skin Tightening – Skin tightening is a comfortable, rejuvenating treatment that tightens lax skin, making it taut and supple again. Skin tightening is done in a short appointment in our office which targets and treats collagen. Nicknamed by some the “lunchtime lift,” the treatment has no downtime at all, just a slight flushed pinkness that fades rapidly. The treatment feels wonderful, as it massages skin and delivers penetrating energy to the collagen layer. This causes collagen to regenerate at skin’s source. With time, skin gets better and better after treatment.

Collagen is a building block of skin that we lose naturally as we age, or that is reduced in effectiveness by weight gain or stretching of the skin. With skin tightening and collagen improvement, the hydration of skin is increased, and your skin tone, color and smoothness are greatly enhanced. The procedure is very helpful in reducing the appearance of sagging skin, wrinkles, fine lines, deep wrinkles, and uneven skin tone, on the face, eyes, neck, under the eye, jowls, brow lines, abdomen, and buttocks. It restores suppleness and vibrance to skin that is lax or tired-looking. The skin is left toned and tightened and collagen highly improved.

Forma/Forma Plus

Forma Defined

Forma is used to provide flawless skin following fat removal. Radio frequency technology is administered to contract deep below the superficial layer of the skin. The technique promotes collagen production and increases skin elasticity.

Forma was established through clinical-based studies, which proved successful with the technology known as A.C.E. – short for Acquire, Control, Extend. It furthermore guarantees a consistent outcome.

Will Forma Work For You?

Forma is versatile for a range of skin types, and is beneficial for men and women who would like a uniform skin tone and texture. Additional benefits for Forma include even skin, with less wrinkles.

Where Is Forma Applicable?

Many individuals are concerned with wrinkles and other skin imperfections on the face. The good news is that Forma can be applied to both the face and other areas of the body. It’s popularly used along the upper and lower face to treat jowls, wrinkles under the eyes, and also on the neck. Other common areas for Forma are the abs and arms.

Does Forma Hurt?

The technique is virtually painless, non-invasive and nonsurgical. Forma is straightforward based on the A.C.E. technology described earlier, as it directs radio frequency deep below the superficial layer of the skin. Some patients may however experience slight redness within a few minutes following the technique – and this will diminish after a couple of hours.

How Many Treatments Are Needed?

The most common recommendation is one session each week, for one and a half months (or six weeks). Clients with sensitive skin may require more time between each session. Dr. Wright will complete a medical evaluation to determine how many treatments are needed.

Is Forma Safe With Other Cosmetic Procedures?

Absolutely. Forma is commonly used with other processes like laser technology, microdermabrasion and other facials, as well as fillers. Dr. Wright will analyze each patient’s skin to determine safety and effectiveness when combining treatments.

What is FracTotal Facial?

If you have sagging skin, hyperpigmentation, uneven texture, wrinkles, and other skin imperfections, FracTotal addresses all of these concerns and more – in one session. It is the combination of Forma + Fractora resurfacing, with Lumecca Photofacial.
