What is a Brazilian Butt Lift/Butt Augmentation?
A Brazilian butt lift, also known as St. Louis butt augmentation, is a cosmetic procedure that can provide a more perky and prominent backside. Previously, butt augmentation was generally done using implants or synthetic fillers. However, a new procedure — buttock augmentation with fat grafting — has become increasingly popular.

What is the Brazilian Butt Lift Procedure?
During our St. Louis Brazilian Butt Lift procedure using fat grafting, a patient’s own fat will be extracted using liposuction. The fat is usually removed from areas with excess fat such as the thighs, hips or abdomen; therefore, the procedure may also have the added advantage of smoothing areas with excess fat. Because the patient’s own fat is used, there is no chance of any type of allergic reaction, which is possible when using synthetic fillers or implants.
The collected fat is separated from other tissues by a centrifuge, and is then processed and purified, with only the healthiest fat cells being used. This fat is then injected through tiny cannulas into the buttocks. The fat is injected at different depths around the buttocks for better absorption that will lead to a smooth, natural appearance.
What is the Recovery Time After a Butt Lift?
After the procedure, you will be required to wear compression garments to promote proper healing for the desired look. You will also be instructed to take care on how you sit, again to promote proper healing.
Recovery times vary depending on the patient. If you don’t have a highly active routine, you should be able to return to your schedule within a week. Most people will be able to return to moderate and full activity schedules within three to four weeks.
