Dermapen works by healing your skin from within. It is a set of sterile, tiny microneedles, applied to the skin by Dr. Wright or a trained medical professional. Dermapen induces fractional treatment to trigger skin rejuvenation without the risks of scarring, resulting in visibly smoother and firmer skin. Skin is treated not at the surface as in a facial but at the level where it renews. Collagen and elastin production is stimulated, resulting in healthier, better-looking skin.

It is not uncomfortable; patients report it feels like a tickling sensation. For more sensitive areas or deeper treatments, numbing cream may be effectively applied before your treatment. There is very little downtime; depending on the depth of treatment, the skin is mildly pink for a short time. Deeper treatments may produce redness on or around tougher scars to penetrate and heal them and facilitate scar revision.

Micro-needling with Dermapen sets up unparalleled skin remodeling and regeneration. Skin needling is based on the skin’s ability to heal itself after an injury. After the skin encounters physical damage, it releases growth factors and recruits immune cells. These growth factors and immune cells recruit fibroblasts and keratinocytes which lay down a new extracellular scaffolding of collagen, elastin, and other important skin structural elements. In some areas, we combine the benefit of your skin’s collagen-building abilities with a hyaluronic acid infusion. HLA is the active ingredient in many fillers; since it retains and absorbs moisture, it results in firmer, more youthful skin tone.

This helps with tightening skin where there are fine lines and sagging; resurfacing of acne scars and pitting; scar revision; overall skin dullness; and age- and sun-related loss of tone.

Dermapen is the device utilized in the hugely popular “Dracula Facial” that is the ‘it’ treatment for 2013. We modify the “Dracula Facial,” though, eliminating the painful blood injection portion and making the treatment much more comfortable and less messy.

We infuse skin with a freshening hyaluronic serum, providing a healing boost of moisture-attracting solution that makes your skin more taut and luminous.

Patient C.H. had this to say about her “Dracula Facial” Dermapen treatment with us:

"I have had acne scars for years. Until now I haven’t been able to find an effective treatment that doesn’t cost thousands of dollars. Dr. Wright suggested I try the Dermapen. I have had only the first treatment (of three total) and am blown away by the results. I had my full face treated without numbing and was out the door in about twenty minutes. There was very little discomfort and almost no redness. My acne scars are greatly diminished- (some having altogether vanished!) fine lines and wrinkles are disappearing and my skin is noticeably smoother, firmer and tighter. I am ecstatic about my results. Overall, the cost of Dermapen is in my ballpark price-wise, has no downtime, and offers fantastic results. I can’t thank Dr. Wright and his highly skilled team enough for taking the time to cater to patient’s needs and providing outstanding patient satisfaction."

What are Stretch Marks?

Stretch marks, also known as stria distensae, are caused by rapid stretching of the skin. After an initial inflammatory phase, the skin and its underlying structure become thin/atrophic. It does not have the same structure as healthy skin.

How Does Dermapen Help Stretch Marks?

The micro-needling treatment stimulates growth factors and local immune cells. This leads to fibroblast proliferation and remodeling of the skin with new collagen formation and skin thickening.

What are Scars?

Scars are the result of different or disorganized collagen fibers in the skin.

Does the Dermapen Work for Scars?

Yes, the Dermapen’s fractional micro-needling causes the mechanical breakdown of existing scarring. This allows new and natural wound healing responses to take place and increases the occurrence of growth factors responsible for skin remodeling.

What is a Wrinkle?

A wrinkle is a fold in a skin. Under the skin fold or depression in the skin, there is a relative lack of collagen protein. The skin is lacking it full potential structure.

How Does Dermapen Help Wrinkles?

Dermapen treatment leads to increased availability of nutrients and triggers the wound healing cascade resulting proliferation of fibroblast, epithelial, and keratinocytes. The final result is skin remodeling, skin thickening, and higher collagen density, resulting in less visible wrinkling and firmer, healthier skin.
